FSI's Impact Platform
A philanthropic impact platform is a strategic hub that accelerates change by combining multiple tools and approaches under one roof. FSI acts as both a funder and operator, directly implementing programs while also empowering others. FSI's Impact Platform includes grantmaking, regranting, programmatic initiatives, fiscal sponsorships, fellowships, equity investments, and collaborative partnerships.
Unlike traditional funders that primarily make grants, or nonprofits that solely run programs, FSI’s impact platform actively braids different forms of capital (financial, human, and social) to achieve maximum impact. Through this flexible structure, an impact platform can rapidly test new ideas, scale what works, and build networks across sectors. This model recognizes that solving complex challenges requires multiple interventions working in concert across different levels of the system.
By braiding together these diverse forms of capital and support, FSI’s philanthropic impact platform can accelerate progress at scale. This multifaceted approach allows the platform to deploy resources strategically, nurture new ideas, empower change-makers, and create synergies across its various initiatives. The goal is to catalyzetransformative impact that extends beyond the platform's direct investments and interventions.
